Impatient

I am growing impatient during this horrible season of politics. I see the fear, loathing, and mistrust in people’s eyes. I see our youth becoming disenchanted. It’s hard not to get discouraged. But I hold on to the reality that Jesus has overcome the world and some day…some day, He will set the world to rights.

Love, Love, Love

The Christian life involves many things…it is life changing. Prayer, study, meditation, caring, and more.

But most of all, it means to love. It’s the first and greatest commandment. It is the one I strive the hardest to meet and fall short. But still, I strive.

Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV)

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I Want to be Like Jesus

There is beauty in the older hymns that have been sung in church for so many years. You don’t particular song anymore.

When I saw this verse though…this old hymn immediately came to mind…I want to be like Jesus. Here is the opening stanza:

I have one deep, supreme desire,
that I may be like Jesus.
To this I fervently aspire,
that I may be like Jesus.
I want my heart His throne to be,
so that a watching world may see
His likeness shining forth in me.
I want to be like Jesus.
