God Knows Every Hair on Your Head

Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:4-5

I love this verse. Not because I consider myself a prophet like Jeremiah, but because the Lord knows our heart. He knows the hairs on our head. He knows our intentions and still…He loves us.

What could be better than that?

Jesus Loves You – Pass it On…

I’m not bold enough to claim to be a prophet. I’m not even bold enough to call myself a Bible scholar. I AM bold enough to proclaim my belief and love for Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. That doesn’t make me smart, it just makes me blessed. The fact that I get to share it with you is even more delicious in that I could not have done so in such a public way before the growth of the internet.

What would have happened if the prophets had been able to use social networking? Can you imagine if Micah, Joel or Elisha sent out a tweet warning people to return to God?

God spoke through many prophets. They were the real deal. But even more amazing, the prophets did not have the ability to blast an email to millions. The prophets didn’t have Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. What they did have was prophetic visions and God’s voice to share meaningful words of wisdom.

What’s really impressive is that people listened to them! From kings to ordinary citizens – everyone paid attention to the prophets. They might not have obeyed but they definitely listened.

Today, you and I articulate through our blogs or other internet sites and share our religious beliefs. Some may be more eloquent while others might be a little more homegrown. It’s all good. We simply need to remember that words can inspire others to do great things but they can also cause great damage. Our ability to reach many is unfathomable.

But at the end of the day, our goal should be the same. We should strive to enlighten and encourage people to return to God. The prophets, without a doubt, changed mankind for eternity. We need the internet to reach many, but we should also remember that our God is greater than anything man can invent.

Speak, write, shout or tweet but whatever you do and however you do it, be sure to tell others about Jesus.
